At Cyncoed Dental Practice we highly recommend booking your hygiene appointments with our dental hygienists so they can monitor your oral health progress using gum disease indexes. As of December 2023, all oral hygiene treatments will be with a Dental Hygienist.
Our gums are the foundations for our teeth, making it so important to maintain regular hygiene visits.

DENTAL HYGIENIST
Sarah Lau
Sarah has been a qualified hygienist for 7 years and works at Cyncoed on Monday, Wednesday and occasional Fridays and Saturdays. Sarah offers all hygiene services including scaling and polishing and periodontal therapy as well as teeth whitening. Sarah particularly enjoys oral health education, where she takes the time to discuss patients’ gum conditions and cleaning techniques that can be used at home and demonstrates how to use them.
DENTAL HYGIENIST
Jamie Amphlett
Jamie qualified as a dental hygienist in 2020, following 6 years working as a dental nurse. Jamie works on Thursdays until 6pm. Jamie particularly enjoys removing staining using our air polishing pearl treatment, which uses fine polishing pearls to remove plaque biofilm and stains to promote a higher standard of oral hygiene. Air polishing is great for removing stubborn tea, coffee and smoking stains. Jamie also carries out whitening and aesthetics.
