We recently met a new patient called Paul. He was embarrassed by the appearance of his teeth and was sometimes unwilling to speak or smile. It wasn’t a huge problem for him, but it was something he’d prefer to change.
As someone with crowded front teeth, Paul was an ideal candidate for Invisalign. We worked out that it would take 24 sets of aligners over the course of a year to create the desired effect. At the same time, we reshaped one of Paul’s teeth to give him a flawless smile.
With the treatment complete, we gave Paul a free tooth whitening session to complete his new look.

Invisalign is a premium orthodontic treatment. It gradually repositions your teeth using see-through plastic aligners. When the treatment is complete, teeth are left looking healthy and straight.
A state-of-the-art scanner is used to create an accurate 3D picture of your teeth’s current position. We then use the latest technology to build a simulation of your teeth after the treatment. These detailed before and after pictures show you what to expect from your treatment, so you can make your decision with confidence.
One scan is all we need. We’ll send it to our lab technicians, and they’ll use it to create bespoke aligners for every stage of your treatment.
When the treatment is complete, all that’s left to do is smile.
The duration of your treatment will depend on how much movement is needed for your teeth to reach their target position and your agreed treatment plan.
Treatment that involves a lot of movement can take up to 18 months. Minor adjustments can be completed in as little as 14 weeks.
Scanning your teeth allows us to estimate the length of your treatment. This is based on how many sets of plastic aligners you need.
Invisalign gives fantastic results while being practically invisible. People will have no idea that you are undergoing treatment – until they see your new smile! Invisalign uses specially made plastic aligners to gently adjust the position of your teeth. You will receive a new set of personalised aligners every fortnight. With each set, your teeth are moved closer to their target position.
We’ll check in with you at every stage of your treatment, just to make sure that things are going smoothly. The duration of your treatment will depend on the distance your teeth have to travel. During your free consultation, we can give you an accurate estimate of how long Invisalign will take.

Once your consultation is finished, we’ll book you an Invisalign scan appointment. We‘ll use a state-of-the-art scanner to chart the positions of your teeth, allowing us to build a detailed 3D model of your mouth. This model is used to create an accurate simulation of your post-treatment smile. It’s all completely digital, so we don’t have to take any messy impressions.
You’ll leave the consultation with a set of before and after pictures to look over at home. We’ll also give you a suggested treatment plan to help you make your decision.
Sometimes special Invisalign attachments known as “buttons” are attached to your teeth to help the aligners do their job. Buttons are only required in some cases, so you might not need them. Anyway, they are nothing to worry about. Buttons match the colour of your teeth and are so small that they are barely noticeable.
Invisalign aligners don’t have much in common with traditional braces. We prefer to think of them as an alternative to adult braces. Train tracks are an effective solution for teenagers, but Invisalign is the best option for adults.
